Stop Charging Unapproved Fees - Manager Threatens Service Providers

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) District Health Manager of the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Health Directorate, Rev Godfred Kingsley Gyebi-Arthur has called on the service providers to desist from charging unauthorized fees from its members. 

Speaking to AfricaNewsArenaGh.com, Rev Gyebi-Arthur cautioned service providers that such an attitude is against the ethics of the profession and in order not to face the wrath of the law, he threatened them to be self-disciplined, dedicated, punctual and must abide by the laws.

He made this indication during the 2022 Mid-Year Performance Review Meeting on the theme: "Strengthening Institutional Systems, Improving Service Performance and Attaining Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Delivery in by the Midst of COVID-19 Pandemic, the Role of Stakeholders" held at Ajumako in the Central region.

Rev Gyebi-Arthur stressed on the readiness of the scheme to improve on the quality of healthcare delivery in the region and called on the general public to register with the scheme for better healthcare delivery. He also advised members of the scheme to cultivate the spirit of making their cards active, and also encouraged them to linked their Health Insurance Card to Ghana card by dailing *929#, select option 4, then follow the prompt.

He further lamented that lack of a cellular network in most communities is a major challenge confronting the scheme, hence, appealed to the government and the telecoms to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.
