Kwaprow, a suburb of the Central Regional capital Cape Coast has on Tuesday 15th November presented before its Chief, Nana Kwesi Mensah lll the developing community's newly and first to be crowned Zongo Chief Sarki Abdul Karim l.

The young, vibrant and energetic Zongo Chief who having won for himself the hearts of indigenes living within the community as well as the enviable crown out of his selflessness and dedication towards the personal good of community, had himself unveiled to the good people of Kwaprow on Saturday 12th November, 2022 following a glamorous durbar held, which attracted the presence of high personalities travel from both far and near to witness the colourful occasion.

Sarki Karim, as would be affectionately addressed now onwards as tradition requires has consequently had himself presented to the Chief of Kwaprow at his confinement for his customary enstoolment.

Accompanied by family members, friends and loved ones alongside Mallam Alhassan (Kwaprow Imam), Baba Musa Adama (his right hand man who customarily is refered to us Galadima), Magagia Safia Yaro (Kwaprow Zongo Queen Mother), a linguist (Okyeame) and two other elders from the community's Anona family, went to the Kwaprow Chief's palace along with two packs of Malta Guinness, two bottles of Fante, a goat and an undisclosed amount of sealed envelope money.

Speaking during the traditional presentation of Sarki Abdul Karim, Nana Kwesi Mensah lll advised the newly crowned Sarki (Chief) to be wary of those that today hails him, as they're the same people to call for his head sometime to come, as he passionately made an appeal to the fellow's family members who acts as his backbone, never to call for the castigation of the community's newly found Zongo Chief to propel him carry out his duties squarely.

He equally issued out a note of caution to anyone who intentional will seek to find the downfall or distraction of the Zongo Chief to get prepared for the wrath of the entire community members. Adding that Abdul Karim as earlier known has officially crossed carpet to become royalty, and at that, a shared responsibility of the community to protect.

On why he and his elders settled on enstooling Abdul Karim as the Zongo Chief for Kwaprow, Nana Kwesi Mensah lll explained to Accra-UK based Rainbow Radio reporter Eric Annan saying, the young man aside his massive contributions offered to the development of the community is equally down to earth, as his chieftancy title will consequently aid in bridging the long-standing language barrier between the palace and the Zongo community, which makes it difficult for the palace to sit on issues that emanates from the Zongo people.

Sarki Abdul Karim having been crowned the Kwaprow Zongo Chief on developmental projects he seeks to help the community acquire, appealed to both the government and philanthropic agencies to come the aid of the community with an Arabic school which won't only ran the Islamic curriculum but that of the Ghana Education Service's (GES) concurrently to feed not only muslim pupil within the community but school going Christian students as well.

The newly enstooled Kwaprow Zongo Chief had himself earlier presented before the Central Regional Zongo Chief and the Region's Chief Imam at their residence before his enstoolment.
