The Concerned Association of Taxi Drivers has hit the streets of Mankessim to protest against the rampant arrest of its members by the MTTD of the Mfantseman Municipality, especially the Mankessim Division.
According to the protesters, they are worried about the condition behind the whole issue that, Mankessim-Saltpond Taxi drivers do not have a station/lorry park, hence, they use to manage the menace by adopting "pick and go" method.
The Concerned Association of Taxi Drivers revealed that, several consultations have been made but yielded no positive result, therefore ending today's strike.
Reaching the conveners further emphasized that, they have given a week ultimatum and if nothing is done towards the canker, they shall know the next action to take.
In an interview with AfricaNewsArenaGh's Adom Nanaa Odiasempa Savvy, the Assembly Member for the Anaafo-Estate Electoral Area, Hon. Cephas Arthur after consultation with the MCE of the Mfantseman Municipality, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu and the Mankessim Divisional MTTD Commander, ASP Mrs Beatrice Sintim Koree also hinted on the laydown measures put in place to curb the menace.
