C/R: On The Need To Beef Up Security In The Region, MP For Cape Coast South Pays Courtesy Visit To Region's Police Headquarters

Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast South Constituency who happens to be the immediate past Central Regional Minister under former president Mahama's administration, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan has on Thursday, May 19 paid an urgent visit to the Central Regional Police Headquarters on the need to beef up security in the Region, following the recent murder of Nana Ama Clark, a level 300 Cape Coast Technical University Marketing Student.

The honourable MP in an interview with AfricaNewsArenaGh.Com told Eric Annan upon reaching the crime scene of murdered Nana Ama Clark saying, the incident that happened at Ola, which is within his Cape Coast South constituency by some unknown assailants will by all effort with the help of the police force be considered.

Hon. Ricketts then assured residents of Ola to keep calm since he has said will do everything within his possible means to make sure Cape Coast is lightened up to help the police discharge their duties harmoniously, as the murdering of the aforementioned student occured at a place with poor lightening system.

He recalled that incidence of criminality in the Ancient Capital (Cape Coast) is overwhelmingly increasing.

"This Region and this City is quiet a peaceful place. We in Cape Coast have managed to keep peace for a very long time and want to make sure that Policing here is done in a way that protects people since we believe its outsiders who come to the city and commit crime," the former Regional Minister highlighted when visited the Region's Police headquarters.

The MP afterwards visited some communities within his constituency to have some healthy developmental talks with his people, and as well presented some undisclosed amount of money to them for the purchasing of prepaid metres to lighten up their communities since poor lightening has over some time now become a major cause of worry to the good people of Cape Coast.

Nicholas Ato Bronk Taylor, boyfriend to the deceased was later arrested by the Central Regional Police Command and was charged to the Cape Coast District Court with murder. The accused upon the first hearing was remanded by the court to reappear before Cape Coast District Court "B" on 31st May 2022.
