School Feeding Program: Caterers Cry Foul Over Lock Up Funds

Those in charge of Ghana School Feeding Programme are crying foul about the lock of their monies to be released to them to foot their bills.

Normally they prefinance the cost involved for the cooking of food to the students, before the government paids them back.

Speaking to one of them, Madam Sika said, for the pass four months they have not received any payment from the government.

Most of the cooking staff that used to cook food for the students borrow on credit basis from the market.

Creditors  are mounting pressure on them, some cannot sleep in their homes, because of the sum of an amount they are owing. Some too have fell sick by force because of overthinking of how to pay their creditors.

In an interview with some of them per their checks, the government has released the money to be paid to them, but they have not received it yet.

The students will vacate very soon for a long vacation and they do not have any hope for survival, they lamented
