C/R: TENSION IN AJUMAKO ASSASAN OVER ENSTOOLMENT OF A NEW CHIEF

Tension in Ajumako Assasan over the enstoolment of a new Nyifahen in the town.

According to report, Nana Kwame Essuman who is enstooled as Nyifahen of Assasan also doubles as Guantoahen of Ajumako Traditional Council.

Nana Kwame Essuman said, the family do not want to enstool him as Nyifahen but rather Guantoahen at Ajumako Assasan.

He also stated that, the family should go to Ajumako to enstool Guantoahen but not Ajumako Assasan.

Speaking to the Chief of Ajumako Assasan about the tension over the enstoolment of new Nyifahen, Nana Essel Assan (X) said, he is of the view that the rite of the Nyifahen is what they have performed and he is to be enstooled as Nyifahene and not Guantoahen.

Nana Essel Assan (X) added that, the Chiefs and people of the town took the matter to DISEC at Ajumako to sit on it.

He also said that, the family who is about to enstool a new chief was told to write to rescind the decision to enstool Nyifahen not Guantuahene.

Agyei Kwaku Mensah in an interview with the family who is about to enstool a new Chief, the PRO of the family, Fiifi Essuman of their side of the story, he said, they were invited by DISEC and made to write a letter before the enstoolment.

The Omankrado of Ajumako Assasan, Nana Kwaw Nomah (III) on his part pleaded for peace to prevail in the town as he calls on both halves not to drag this issue.

He added that, the Chiefs of Ajumako Enyan-Essiam District are in line with what the Chief of Ajumako Assasan Nana Essel Assan (X) insist.
