“There is no way God will descend to come write your examination for you so waste no little chance you have. Make every available chance useful because you have limited time... there are certain activities you should forgo at this particular moment, stick to your books because success does not come on a silver platter... God does not write examination”, this was an advice given to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Anomabo, Yamoransa and Saltpond circuits by Professor Nana Ama Browne-Klutse (Mrs).

According to her, “God indeed helps but He always helps those who are serious and those who, in this case, have learnt... but you don't always pray without studying and think that God will come and answer your questions for you on that day no!, God does not work that way”.

The Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana (UG) Physics department was answering a question from a Junior High School (JHS) finalist from the circuits at a career guidance seminar organized by  an education initiative called Boys and Girls Club of Ghana, Anomabo for the finalists on Friday.
According to the candidate, most of his home studies timetable coincide with his church activities so wanted to know, among other things, what he should do and also to find out if prayers could not help them pass their examination.

She advised the candidates to carry their notebooks along wherever they go so that every little chance they get they would use to study and not to heed to naysayings and superstitions that will let them spend all their time on prayers alone. “We study and then pray to God to give us retentive memory of what we've studied so if you haven't studied, what would God remind you of? ...so let your religious leaders know the times you are in now; tell them to take some of the duties from you now because you need time to study because after all there is more time after the examination”, the former manageress of the Remote Sensing and Climate Centre at the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission explained further.

Speaking on the theme “Sincerity: The Recipe For Your Success”, she charged the candidates to be faithful to themselves always including in their fields of studies by programming their daily activities for that would determine their altitude.

Using herself as an example said, being able to make it in life does not matter where one comes from but all that one needs to do was to study hard.
“I'm one of you, I was once like you, I attended the basic school in Anomabo here and the secondary school in Saltpond, same area, before going to University in Cape Coast. I'm from Nyanfoeku EkrÉ”ful which is just around here so if I have been able to make it, why can't you make it? truth of the matter is, from the interactions I've just had with you, I've realised some of you are very brilliant than me when I was in JSS so you can make it. Be sincere to yourself and tell yourself that this is what I want to be and pursue it and trust me, you'll make it”, Professor Nana Ama Browne-Klutse assured.

The seminar, Mr Isaac Kweku Quainoo, the Executive Director of the club, speaking AfricaNewsArenaGh's Kojo Ata Kakrah Abrowah (KAKA) in an interview said was part of series of events being organized by the club to equip the BECE candidates in the area in order to help them pass their pending examination and also acquaint them with their future occupational choices.

He revealed that the club had started free vacation classes for the candidates in both private and public schools in the circuits including seminars on every Friday which was going to be done till schools reopen.

He admonished other organizations, individuals and clubs in other areas to do same to help candidates in their localities.
