Ebenezer K. Otoo: Ghana's Most Outstanding Teacher 2021 Receives Enviable Alumnus Honour From UCC [VIDEO]

Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Otoo who currently holds the bragging right as Ghana's Best Teacher, awarded last year 2021 has on Friday, 19th August,2022 saw himself receive an enviable honouring from the University of Cape Coast.

The educationist's grand honour berths his stint with the highly regarded institution as a pioneer and three-time alumni of the University with its department of College of Distance Education (CoDE), having raised to ascertain the breathtaking height he's presently enjoying.

The occasion earmarked the Installation of CoDE Day in commemoration to the 60th Anniversary of UCC as a Public University at its SMS auditorium dubbed "60 Years of Quality Higher Education: Expanding Access through Distance Learning"

The 45-year-old teacher of the Winneba Senior High School (SHS) in the Efutu Municipality of the Central Region relaid his dumbfounding excitement towards the kind gesture done him through his facial expression and bodily reactions.

Mr. Otoo in his video documentary speech viewed during the event recounted his journey with the University of Cape Coast's CoDE. The National Best Teacher indicated that his achievements and confidence is all as a result of the good education he had from the University and urged the College of Distance Education for all workers to obtain professionalism through their various field work while being at post.

Meanwhile, the University's department of Distance Education primarily began its Diploma in Basic Education course in the year 2001 with about 900 students but currently prides itself with over 50, 000 students enrolled in various programmes from diploma to Masters Degree.

However, the Pro Vice Chancellor of UCC in her closing remarks commended CoDE for bringing quality education to the door steps of the citizenry through its distance education and for the various human resources it has as well produced for Ghana as a nation, as the University itself as equally made the provision of various aids in ensuring all departments are in it together.

The professor again propelled CoDE to break international boundaries to introduce Doctorate programmes as well to the department.
