The ban which is already in force commenced last Tuesday, 2nd August as it's said to be lifted on Thursday, August 18, 2022 to pave way for other scheduled activities prior to the festival dubbed "Making Cape Coast Great Again Through Tourism, Education and Development" which is slated to hold on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022.
Speaking at a brief press conference held at his confinement (Emintimadzi Palace) together with his sub-chiefs, Osabarimba declared;
"In commemorating this year's Oguaa Fetu Afahye, there are certain vital itinaries put in place to see to it this year's festival become a success, which begins with the ban on drumming and noise making, coupled with a ban on fishing from our Fosu lagoon as both ban are currently in force, having took off this Tuesday.
"Hence will entreat each and every individual who resides within Cape Coast to take note of this all important announcement, being it a church or picnic."
"One will never go scot-free if found in contradiction to making noise even at his residence (house) following this caution," he notified.
The Paramount Chief in conclusion highlighted that as Christians when commemorating their Easter festivity set aside Good Friday to keep quiet and ponder over the death of Christ applies same to their ban on noise making as they (the Chiefs) set aside such days to think of the growth and well-being of Cape Coast.
