As one of the Nana Addo led New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagship campaign message used in winning the heart of most Ghanaians during the 2016 general elections, the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative which was widely embraced by many as it aimed at establishing factories across all 275 districts in Ghana in other to create jobs to help curb the country's high rate of unemployment.
The government with regards to the commencement of the policy, said to partner some private owned industries across the country, revamp their businesses to produce in large scale for exportation which in turn will require the services of extra hands, hence create an avenue for job employment for many Ghanaian youths, as a number of private companies across Ghana were made to subscribe to the initiative by registering.
Solid Home Appliance Limited, a technology inventive private owned liability company situated in Cape Coast formed part of these applied and registered companies and also was among the few which emanated from the Central Region which till date has heard nothing concrete from the government.
The company which originally commenced operation in Atomic Junction (Accra-Ghana) as Pamasonic Appliance Limited had to relocate to pitch camp in the Central Region, precisely Cape Coast with a primary motive to offer help through employment and industrialization through the company to residents living in and around the ancient city due to the region's high rate of youth unemployment which has grown to become a major contributing factor to the numerous social vises happening in the region.
Having been in existence since 2009 (13years and still counting), Solid Home is best known for it's magical craft in technological inventions like their Solar Silent Generator, Mosquito Trapping Device, Solar School Bag which comes with a light and USB charging slot, Energy Saving LED Bulbs, Fish Monitoring Camera for fisherfolks named in the local dilate as 'Hwehwea Nam' which translates 'look for fish', and their latest invention called 'The National Service Package' which has to do with a Solar Television Set that can on a bulb, play a sound system and can as well on a fan designed for remote areas, elevates the company to gradually to becoming one of the most sort after local technology companies by foreign countries.
Solid Home Appliance Limited as record depicts happens to be the first Ghanaian company to have ever manufactured a working LED Bulb in 2011, as the firm prides itself of currently having some of it's LED Bulbs fixed at the State's Energy Ministry which is still working.
Speaking exclusively in an interview to AfricaNewsArenaGh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Rev. Albert Arthur who's affectionately referred to as 'Rev. Wonder' told Eric Annan;
"We've currently employed the services of some few people we're training to become gems in the technological field but seriously believe as a company we can do more if the government is to get involve in what we're doing with some financial support from other banks."
"Though it is the NPP as a political party that introduced the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative, if both present and successive governments wants to see the country grow in the technology industry with multiple inventions, I will encourage them to accord this 1D1F policy with outmost prominence to help secure the future of Ghana," he said.
In a brief conversation with the company's Managing Director, Mr. Carl Sackey Fio (Reverend), he made a clarion call to the government to reconsider certain requirements it demand in it's registration process before partnering an applied company, fingering out the request of a collateral to make a passionate appeal to the government that most of these businesses can't meet up with such requirement.
Meanwhile, the Nana Addo led NPP administration as fact depicts can currently boost of not more than 50 1D1F industries across the length and breath of Ghana out of the estimated 275 factories promised to establish during his 2016 campaign.
