Former Black Stars midfielder, Samuel Johnson says Augustine Okrah has disappointed the country's local players after he rejected an invitation to join the Black Stars.
Augustine Okrah was called-up to the National Team but was dropped after the game against Madagascar, where he didn't make the eighteen man match-day-squad in Cape Coast.
He was later recalled to join the team to the four nation tournament, Kirin Cup, in Japan but rejected the call-up.
There were allegations that he rejected the call-up because he wasn't given opportunity to play in his favourite position when he was first called, and that he didn't give any reason when he rejected the invite according his club CEO and Executive Committee Member, Lord Zico.
Meanwhile, Augustine Okrah has come out to respond that he got injured in their game against Aduana Stars over the weekend in an interview.
There've been several calls over the years to give opportunity to locally based players to feature for the Black Stars.
Samuel Johnson, widely known as 'Foyoo' insists Augustine Okrah has really let his colleagues in the local league down, and hopes his attitude won't affect local players' call-ups to the Black Stars.
"This is the time the coach could have given him the chance to play at the tournament for him to prove him wrong," he told Precise FM.
"He should have honoured the call-up and prove the coach wrong that he is better than the players he took to Angola for the CAR game.
“Everyone have been campaigning for local player's inclusion in the Black stars squad, so if after all the campaign you decline a call-up despite being dropped from the squad earlier, I think he has disappointed the local players, and I hope and pray his attitude won't affect other local player's call-up in the future," he insisted.
