Stop Robbing Ghanaians Mr President Nana Addo. Collection Of E-Levy Is Illegal
The lawlessness and the complete disregard for Ghanaian laws is once again amply executed by Nana Akufo-Addo, and his government.
Clearly there is an injunction against E-Levy implementation from 1st May, 2022, but the power drank authorities have gone ahead nonetheless, what does this mean for rule of law in Ghana? What precedence does this also set for future governments? If government is disregarding court injunctions, do we have a right to complain in future?
Did the 236 NPP MPs who passed the E-Levy satisfied the required number for voting and decision taking?
Hon. Kwarteng, Chairman of Parliament's Finance Committee, once won a case of illegal collections of money on Fuel
There was to be a REFUND.
History is repeating itself; with illegal E-Levy collections which will have to be refunded. The Gallant Cadres of NDC is advising Ghanaians not to fall a victim by patronizing Electronic Transaction before the Supreme Court Case on 4th May, 2022.
Is it not a common fact that some Ghanaians are in court over the legality or illegality of the passage of the E-Levy?
Ghanaians should not be surprised if this NPP government takes the original 17.5% E-Levy at every transaction made and get the Supreme Court to "interpret" it as "appropriate". We have a power drank president who can do whatever he likes and everyone who matters keeps quiet.
Information the Gallant Cadres of NDC is picking up is that E-Levy is witnessing a chaotic start, signaling a monumental mess and classic case of E-incompetence.
Because even GH¢11.00 transaction which is below the threshold has been taxed.
Could this government be even trusted? Today, E-LEVY is to serve as Collateral for borrowing as no nation, no economy and Nobody wants to lend the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia Government even at high interest rates. Clearly Ghana is broke, and because investors are afraid Ghana Cannot pay back due to its unsustainable debt position.
The high appetite of the Nana Akufo Addo government for Borrowing is because companies belonging to the two Ministers of Finance (Ken Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen) benefit from loans they take in the name of Ghanaians. These loans, and the loan burden will be paid by current and future generations of Ghanaians.
