Amidst the disruption caused by the continuing teenage pregnancy in Ghana, the Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa III, the Queen mother of Ekumfi Swedru and Nimatu Vanessa Asilya of She4G Foundation have undertaken a significant initiative in support of its students and the entire Ekumfi District of the Central region, who have been affected in various ways. With support from the Management of She4G Foundation in collaboration with the Chiefs of Ekumfi District have taken the commendable decision to donate a sizable relief package to over 300 students as well as some of the residents of Ekumfi Swedru.
Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa IIIThe initiative, which has been championed was undertaken bearing in mind that the knock-on effect of teenage pregnancy entailed severe social implications for many girl child students who would be unable to contain the pressure. Speaking during the handing over of the items, Ms Nimatu Vanessa reiterated the Foundation's commitment to providing various forms of support to students, particularly during this challenging time. An undisclosed amount is being used to purchase various items including school bags, exercise books, necklaces, assorted slippers and school kits, clothes, among others.
Ms Vanessa emphasized that the gesture was being made to show She4G Foundation appreciation for choosing to be with them, as well as to encourage them to focus on their learning while in school and at home. In her closing statement, she thanked the parents and students for taking delivery of relief items.
Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa III, thanked Management of She4G Foundation and the entire community for the wonderful gesture and communicated sincere gratitude on behalf of the entire body and urging students to use this donation to motivate themselves and turn their attention towards their studies despite the challenges being faced. She also assured the students' body and encouraged them to protect themselves by observing the various safety protocols as they try to overcome this devastating teenage pregnancy.
Nana Enyinfuaa III commended the Management of the She4G Foundation for their staunch support in making this initiative a reality. She stressed that assertion of such initiatives would continue while the current situation persists, and guaranteed students that apart from their academic welfare, they would consistently support them in terms of their emotional, psychological and social welfare as well.
She also commended this wonderful gesture and the confident that the donation will go some way to easing the burden on some parents, students and our needy Ghanaian students as they all come together to beat the menace of teenage pregnancy.
