Qatar 2022 World Cup: Ghana Lucky To Have Been Attracting Ghanaian Born European Players We're Attracting Now - GFA PRO

Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has stated the Black Stars of Ghana is lucky to have been attracting the Ghanaian born European players it is attracting now prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup competition.

Ghana having lost out in the previous World Cup tournament in Russia four years ago after a jawbreaking display in it's previous two appearances, followed by an abysmal 2021 African Cup Of Nations performance and investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas' famous No12 Expose', which centred on the corrupt practices by some major stakeholders in the Ghana football circles including referees all contributed in denting the image of Ghana football to the outside world.

As the Black Stars following a remarkable 2022 World Cup qualification over West African rivals Nigeria some weeks ago, seems to have ignited the lost hope and passion the ordinary Ghanaian had in the senior national team years back, leading to the Black Stars gaining attractiveness from some top Ghanaian born European players like Eddie Nketiah (England born Arsenal striker), Inaki Williams (Spanish born Atletico Bilbao striker), Antoine Semenyo (striker- Brendford), Nico Williams (Spanish born Atletico Bilbao player) and Taric Lamptey (England born Brighton & Hove Albion Winger).

Speaking on Ghana's preparedness ahead of the continental showpiece, Public Relations Officer for the GFA speaking to Accra based Media General Outlet Onua TV said "Ghana is lucky to have been attracting the kind of players we are attracting now in our preparation towards the World Cup," Mr. HAT as affectionately called highlighted.
