Independence Day Quiz Competition: Education Director Appeals For Support As Ankamu Islamic And Greater Grace Schools Emerge Winners

Two schools in Gomoa West District, Ankamu Islamic School, and Greater Grace School have emerged champions in the 65th Independence Day Quiz Competition organized by the Gomoa West District Director of Education in collaboration with the District Assembly headed by the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon Bismark Baisie Nkum.

According to the organizers, the contest was held in stages; among the Public schools, Ankamu Islamic School emerged winner and Greater Grace School at the grand finale of the much-coveted competition also emerged winners among the Private schools.

Four out of the nine circuits took part in the 65th Independence Day Quiz Competitions in the Gomoa West District of the Central region.

Addressing the media, District Education Director, Mrs. Asante Krobia reiterated that, "this Quiz Competition was organized by the District Chief Executive, Mr. Bismark Baisie Nkum in collaboration with the Assembly, and we are still calling on the government to come to our aid in terms of educational infrastructure.

We had a lot of schools in the District that need a lot of infrastructure projects; teachers' accommodation, classrooms, among others. I'm therefore pleading to the government and Member of Parliament for Gomoa West constituency, Hon Richard Mensah to also help because, the DCE, Mr. Bismark Baisie Nkum is doing his part."

The District Education Director, Mrs. Asante Krobia disclosed that the rate of teenage pregnancy in Gomoa West District has reduced through the intervention of the DCE and the Assembly.

She urged the parents/guardians and the school children to "break the chain of poverty by being studious and eschewing teenage pregnancy and all forms of social vices to make you useful to society."
