Assin North MP Donates To Rainstorm Victims, Others

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North District, Mr James Gyakye Quayson has donated quantities of relief items to victims who were hit by a rainstorm in the community 

The items included 2 packets of roofing sheets, 10 bags of cement to victims devastated by the rainstorm and 65 bags of cement for the completion of a CHPS Compound in the Wawase Electoral Area.

The rainstorm destroyed properties and rendered over 20 people homeless at Aworoa Kwesiben Electoral Area, a farming community in the Assin North District.

Presenting the items, he was informed about the tragedy in the community and quickly mobilized resources to curb the canker.


Hon James Quayson advised persons living in life-threatening structures to do the needful and collaborate with designated state agencies to save their lives and property and asked the beneficiaries to put the items to good use.

Receiving the items on behalf of the victims were Mr Gideon Sabutey and Mr Isaac Kwame Fosu, Assembly Members for Aworoa Kwesiben and Wawase Electoral Areas respectively thanked the MP for the support and expressed the hope that the items would help alleviate their plight.


While expressing appreciation to the MP for the gesture, they called for more support from benevolent organizations and philanthropists to improve on their situation.

"We are appealing to institutions and individuals to support us with more relief. The MP and the Assembly have done their best but we still need more relief items."
