PPAG Organizes Parent Child Intergenerational Dialogue Series To Promote SRHR

Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) has held Parent Child Intergenerational Dialogue Series with Stakeholders, Opinion Leaders and the  Young People in Otabenadze, a community in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region to promote Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

Speaking at the programme, Joshua Andoh, the Project Officer for Girls Empowerment Project, Ekumfi District stressed that, the dialogue will help break culture of silence between parents and their wards, promote positive conversations within families on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right (SRHR), support families to understand and support their wards to enjoy their sexual right.

PPAG want to create a healthy relationship among parents and their children

He further emphasized that, the dialogue will help create safe spaces for young people, healthy families, safe homes and health parent child relationships.

The topics which was discussed concerning SRHR are: Pregnancy, Relationship, Career and Livelihoods, SGBV, Education and Skills Training, SRHR Services/Contraception, HIV and STIs.

Stakeholders, Assembly Member, Parents and Young People really enjoyed the dialogue series, thanked and explicits their profound appreciation to PPAG for such an educative programme, pledged to comply what they have learnt in order to get their life back on track.

The Girls Empowerment Project is being supported by UNFPA through the Canadian Government.
