MMDCEs Confirmation: Assembly Members Disappoint Gov't Appointee For Assin South Constituency

Information gathered by Adom Nanaa Odiasempa Paa Solo Savvy of AfricaNewsArenaGh.com indicates that, the Assembly Members for Assin South District have expressed their disappointment towards the District Chief Executive nominee and have failed to confrirm the government norminee as DCE.

The Government Nominee for Assin South District, Hon Felicia Ntrakwah Amissah did not attain the required votes as Article 243 (1) of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act 2016, (Act 936) stipulates that 'there shall be a District Chief Executive for every district who shall be appointed by the President with the prior approval of not less than two-thirds majority of members of the Assembly present and voting the meeting" 

The total number of members of Assembly present were 36.
