The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa West, Hon. Bismark Baisie Nkum in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has distributed foodstuffs to Coatal communities within the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The beneficial communities include Apam, Dago, Abrekum, Mankoadze, just to mention few. Over 70,000 fishermen and fishmongers across the District benefited.
Speaking in an interview with the District Chief Executive DCE, Hon Bismarck Baise Nkum said, most fishermen think he has misused their funds, "I am not like that because Minister herself knows that I will never misuse state property".
Hon DCE said, this Food items will help the fishermem and fishmongers stressing that, "this distribution of rice and oil should have been done within the closed season but time and other things did not allow the development, but better late than never" he added.
Some of the beneficiaries of the donation also shared their views and appreciation to Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Hawa Koomson and the District Chief Executive, Hon Bismark Baise Nkum for such wonderful news and "we fishermen and fishmongers believe that, Honourable Members has done very well, we appreciate it", they announced.
