Video: "I'm The Tiger That Says I Will Not Eat Flesh" - Hawa Koomson

Current Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has said, she is 'the Tiger that says I will not eat flesh" towards the closure of the sea.

Hon Hawa Koomson made this statement in her 3rd tour in the Central Region especially those in the coastal areas towards the closure of the sea for a period of two months effectively July next month.

She pleaded with the Fishermen Council to stop the illegal means of fishing which include the use of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), dynamite, light fishing, others.

"I am like the Tiger that says I will not eat flesh but the mouth is open for fresh air to enter and when you fall foul, you will be deal with" when you are found to be guilty before the law during the stoppage, Hon Hawa revealed.

She visited the good people of Saltpond, Kormantse over a Cold Store which was commissioned in 2016 but has not yet start its operation and was rather left to rot. 
Honourable member assured that, things will be put in order for it to start its operation in no distant date as she calls on other parties to come together help not to be left behind. 

Honourable Minister together with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Kenneth Kelly Essuman for Mfantseman Municipality and the entire team had the chance to meet the Anomabo Traditional Council and then proceed to Anomabo Fisheries College of which according to the contractor will be handed over in September this year.

The Acting President of Anomabo Traditional Council, Obrempong KeseÉ› Obuadzi (VIII) and the Queen mother of Anomabo, Nana Mbrobah Dabo (I) thanked and welcomed the Hon Minister for the visit urged that, they will make will make sure the Fishermen Council stop the illegal means of fishing.

They further revealed to visit the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture with their grievances.
