The newly crowned Chief said this on Saturday 17th September at the durbar grounds of the community's Apayem Festival dubbed "Let's Raise And Build."
The fishing community which saw its Chief witness his first ever Apayem Festival upon his ascension on the throne just this year, having seen its festival hugely celebrated after years of suspension had reputable personalities like Hon. Speaking at the festival, Nana Kwame Edu Ababio ll said; "One thing I've released upon ascending the throne is that, we the people of Ekon are ignorantly the ones destroying our environment. What one is usually welcomed with upon entering this community is momonie, as our seashores have practically been turned into a dumping site for wastes. It's at this seashores where people mostly go to ease-off themselves, as others have equally resorted to the weaning of sand at this same seashore."
"On today's festival, I admonish everyone gathered here to desist from such act becasue whosoever that will be caught dumping rubbish or easing himself at the seashore will be handed over to the police," he told Rainbow Radio reporter Eric Annan.
"To you fishmongers (momonie sellers), we don't need you where you're again, go scrap off all your structures, gather your belongings and leave there or else l will employ the services of the youth to come there and do justice to that after today," he notified.
