MP For Mfantseman Presents Physiotherapy Materials To Saltpond Government Hospital

The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman constituency, Hon Ophelia Mensah Hayford has presented physiotherapy materials and among other assorted items to the Saltpond Government Hospital. 

Speaking to AfricaNewsArenaGh's Agyei Kwaku Mensah after the presentation, the MP for Mfantseman constituency, Hon Ophelia Mensah Hayford advised parents who have such children to take good care of them.

She also added that these children are all blessings to mothers when they are taken to through training, they will grew up to become prominent personalities. MP also encouraged mothers who have such children to take them to the hospital because the problem was developed pregnancy and they can be trained to be conscious.

Hon Ophelia Mensah Hayford also revealed that the Saltpond Government Hospital will soon be upgraded to the state of municipal status.

The Head of Physiotherapy Department at the Saltpond Government Hospital, Mr Tony Osei Akowuah on his part also advised reiterating that, mothers who have children with such conditions not to be demoralized but rather take them to the hospitals instead of throwing them away or killing them.

He further explained some of the causes of Cerebral Palsy that, lack of eating during pregnancy at the same time taking in alcoholic beverages, smoking and hard drugs damage the brain which control the body.

Some mothers with such children also shared their difficulties in taking care of the them.
