C/R: 30 Aspirants Vetted To Contest In NPP's Internal Regional Elections

Vetting committee for the Central Region with regards to the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) internal regional elections has on Wednesday, May 18 vetted all 30 aspirants who according to the party's constitution duly submitted their forms to vie for the region's respective positions.

The calm but stressful vetting process which commenced at 9:00am but ended around 7:30pm in the evening took place at the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC) situated in Cape Coast, as supporters for various aspirants trooped to the location to rally encouragement and support behind their aspirants.

The Five (5) member committee which was chaired by Transport Minister, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, a Central Regional indigene who hails from Dominase in the Upper Denkyira West District saw interesting party personalities like the Chairman of Effutu Constituency who double as the Personal Aide to the District's Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Alexander Afenyo Makins, Chairman Theophilus Effum Halm who's vying for the position of the Regional 1st Vice Chairman.

Dr. Michael Kojo Kyeremateng

Dr. Michael Kojo Kyeremateng, Founder and Managing Trustee of the C4C Group of Companies-Ghana also formed part of these 30 member Central Regional NPP aspirants, who for his first time is vying for the position of the Regional Treasurer.

Mr. Anthony Kwesi Sackey

Incumbent Regional Organizer Mr. Anthony Kwesi Sackey (Manager for the Central Regional Micro-Finance and Small Loans Centre - MASLOC) was also part of the vetted aspirants, together with the region's former Women's Oganizer, Madam Agnes Owusu who's vying to re-attain her lost position as the Regional Women's Organizer.

Balloting, together with date and venue for the election according to the vetting commttie is yet to be finalized, and will be made available to the general public immediately after meeting with the party's National Elections Committee as their party constitution requires of them to do.

The committee's recommendations on the aspirants is noted to be submitted to the party's national office on Thursday, May 19,2022.
