The Chair and Leader of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah has sent a heartfelt New Year message to all Ghanaians, says, 2022 is a year of prosperity, peace and love, called on Ghanaians to show deep concern of expression of love for each other.
Nana Akosua Frimpomaa lamenting on the current state of the country stressed that, ''things are hard."
She appealed to the unemployed; those who in a way have lost their jobs especially the hawkers and tollbooth attendants who have been laid off following the reading of the 2022 budget by the Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta. She pawned to speak on behalf of the victims.
"We will speak on your behalf, we believe strongly that the decision that was taken wasn't the best."
She commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare for showing good leadership and committed to do what is right for the country.
Nana Akosua Frimpomaa further appealed to the IGP "since your department also hired a young people who paid a GH¢100 in search and in quest for job option. So they are apply to all the institutions and each one charge them a GH¢100 officially. Today, government has already shown us the numbers. We know that the numbers were not more than 12000. Let refund that money."
On behalf of the youth that paid the money, the Chair and Leader of CPP also called on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stressed that, "one phone call from you will mean that they will enter this New Year with celebration.
The youth of this country have demonstrated their ability and commitment to work, so, let we as adults do what we can do, rightfully, not to extort money from them but to give them what is due to them," she appealed.
She added that, "the youth of this country have the tendency, the character that is unparalleled to any other youth in the world."
Nana Akosuo Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah further urged all Ghanaians to hold on the peace of the country.
"As we enter into political year, going on, let's not use politics to divide us and continue to have and enjoy the peace that we are enjoying as a nation."
