Concerned students of Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism (C.S.O.I.B.J) are calling on the electoral disputes adjudication committee of the institution to cause the current Students Representative Council (S.RC) executives to step aside.
A statement made by the CSOIBJ indicates that, the call was based on the need to respect the constitution of the Institution.
In an interview with the 'ƐBƐ HYEHYE WO' program Host on Oxford T.V, Dauda Zul-Kiful, the students expressed greater worry to the Institutions' administration over the SRC as very incompetent and dormant.
They reiterated that, the current SRC executives have not been able to solve even a single problem for them, saying they rather worsens the problem by creating enmity between the administration and them.
The students were worried at the situation where the SRC executives were appointed by the administration instead of being voted for as provided in the constitution of the Institution.
They described this as highly discriminatory against some other students who were also interested in contesting for the elections.
The CSOIBJ condemned this act explaining that, it is the cause of the SRC's dormancy. "Oxford SRC is asleep, deeply asleep, in fact they are a liability to the Institution, if we are asked to rate them, I will give them -10.2%", a member of the association described.
According to the petitioners, the SRC was expected to have represented the whole student body and act on their behalf to the administration, however, they are rather acting against the rest of the students for their selfishness.
They therefore proposed to the administration to immediately dissolve the the current team for fresh elections.
