A Push From Gov't Will Propel Us Unearth More Fashionistas - Ghana Co-operative Fashion Designers Association Appeals


President for the Ghana Co-operative Fashion Designers Association's Anomabo branch, Madam Rita Appiah has needfully tender in a passionate appeal to government to hurriedly come to the aid of the organization to enable them reach out to a number of deprived unemployed individuals within the society.

According to her, the organization which answers to the motto 'Unity and Progress' has since its inception contributed massively to the growth and development of country Ghana, having been in existence for years now has seen itself go through series of difficulties, as she recalled at times take it upon herself to cater for certain crucial needs like food and shelter of her apprentice for them to feel motivated to learn the trade.

Madam Rita Appiah remarked all this to Sompa News at Anomabo, where the organization held a colourful graduation ceremony for its eight (8) individuals who had successfully gone through the mill to become a boss of their own as fashion designers on Tuesday 11th October, 2022.

The seasoned fashion designer who through her hands has natured a host of citizenry within the vicinity to graduate and become fashionistas like herself, told Sompa FM/TV reporter Eric Annan in an interview how badly the organization needs a help from the government, sharing how they're always left to their fate whenever there comes a time where government appointees are compelled to give out items like sawing machines, scissors, among others to various fashion designers within the country.

She then appealed to government appointees within the Mfantseman Municipality within which Anomabo resides, most especially to its Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Ophelia Quansah Hayford and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Ike Lord Enu to come to their aid with sawing machines and betterstill forward their plea to the presidency to equally come to their rescue with its help.

Madam Hawah Amadu Alhassan, a master fashion designer and other colleagues of her's on the other hand charged the Nana Addo-led government to turn a close eye to they the masters within the profession who're usually compelled to put their apprentice to a comprehensive training regime and offer them some help with regards to tools they most often use in carrying out their duty as fashion designers, as it's been stretched out to enrolled students under the free SHS initiative.
