The Komenda Sugar Factory Barring Any Hitches Will Be Commissioned This Year - Prez Assures

The President's inspectional tour at the Komenda Sugar Factory

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has in his two day tour to the Central Region assured both residents of Komenda and entire Ghanaians, he together with his New Patriotic Party (NPP) led government are committed to seeing to it the Komenda Sugar Factory gets commissioned to commence industrial operations within this year.

The President on the factory highlighted its completion as one of his major heart desires, as it is his ambition to establish businesses across the country for the ordinary Ghanaian to get employed, and as such is ever committed to see to it the Sugar Factory which he said has over the years seen numerous back and forth in the hands of his government's predecessor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have a grand commissioning later this year after its completion.

He said this during his courtesy visit to Chiefs and Queens of the Komenda Traditional Council on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022 before his departure to have a thorough inspection as to the extent works on the Sugar Factory has so far gotten to, as residents of Komenda have consistently complained about the loss of livelihoods due to the non-operation of the factory.

The president upon mounting the podium to render his address to the Chiefs, Queens and the good people of Komenda remarked;

"As I've taken it upon myself to travel across the length and breath of the country every year to inspect all ongoing projects under my administration to see to it how far works have so far gotten to has led me here today, which l ought to come due to the big Komenda Sugar Factory project which is currently ongoing here in Komenda, having had the project long commenced but is still yet to be completed."

"Though during my last visit here l promised you the factory which you all find dear to your hearts in my next visit to this place would've been fully completed to operationalize. Currently it's almost complete, as great works have so far gone into completing the factory. It is my prayer that barring any hitches the factory will be commissioned before the end of this year," the president assured.

Meanwhile, the Sugar Factory according to information gathered by AfricaNewsArenaGh depicts it's 95% complete, pending minor finishing touches.
