Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have reportedly reached deal with mobile telecommunications giants, Vodafone to become its new headline sponsor.
Sources close to AfricaNewsArena let us to understand that the Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah has concluded talks with officials of Vodafone Ghana for a lucrative sponsorship deal ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The Porcupine Warriors are expected to announce the deal after their CAF Champions League first preliminary round game against RC Kadiogo.
The two-time African champions parted ways with MTN as headline sponsor of Kotoko after failing to renegotiate the deal.
MTN’s sponsorship agreement with Kotoko dates back to January 2011 when a deal was signed for an annual amount of GH¢1,050,000.
The company’s relationship and support to Asante Kotoko date back to the period of Spacefon, Areeba to MTN.
This is not the first time Kotoko will be partnering a mobile telecommunication network having had sponsorships with Tigo Ghana and Onetouch which is now Vodafone.
The club have deals with GOIL, Ceek, Ticketlake, StarLife Assurance, and Star Assurance, Adonko Next Level Energy Drink, VEO, InStat Sport, Errea, Cedar Point Pharmacy.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are expected to take on RC Kadiogo in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League at Coutonou, Benin on monday, September 12, 2022.
