Atlantic Lithium Limited, a mineral exploration company exploring for lithium bearing rocks, mainly operating in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region has donated GH¢10,000 to the NkusukumTraditional Council to support this year’s Odambea festival celebrations. The donation is its commitment to promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, as well as strengthening its ties with the communities in which it operates.

Odambea festival, which is celebrated by the people of Nkusukum in the Central Region, commemorates the bravery of the ancestors and founding fathers who fought tirelessly and sacrificed to establish the town.

Speaking during the donation, the Exploration Manager for Atlantic Lithium in Ghana, Mr Iwan Williams said, Atlantic Lithium Limited is pleased to be part of this year's Nkusukum Odambea festival adding that, as an exploration company, they strive to establish and maintain enduring relationships with various communities across the country, which include Mfantseman, in order to transform lives and promote development.

He wishes the Festival Planning Committee a wonderful celebration and looks forward to strengthening the relationship with the chiefs and people of Central Region.

He added that the traditional leaders have been supportive and assisting their activities whenever the need arises to explain things further to the communities in which they operate which sometimes may be a challenge.

The Chief of Kuntu who doubles as the Benkumhen of the Nkusukum Traditional Area, Nana Kwesi Brebo III who received the donation on behalf of the Nkusukum Traditional Council thanked Atlantic Lithium Limited for their unwavering support and expressed his gratitude to the company.

The festival has become one of the most highly anticipated festivals in the country and attracts thousands of patrons.

This year’s edition is themed “Mobilizing the Young People for Development of Nkusukum and Mfantseman."
