ALLIANCE OF DRIVERS GHANA
PRESS RELEASE 6th July, 2022
STOP ROAD ACCIDENT NOW
Greetings to Ghanaians, Pedestrians, Corporate Unions, Drivers, Motor Vehicle Operators and all individuals in the transport business.
Addressing road accident issues in the country has been a major challenge. We have all failed woefully in discharging our national responsibility in protecting the lives of innocent Ghanaians on our roads. A total of 232 deaths were recorded in January alone this year, the road accident
statistics in January also shows we are not making progress in protecting the lives of individuals as 1,237 road crash injuries were captured.
Bad attitude such as reckless driving is what we always experience on our roads, drink driving has become the order of the day. The earlier we discard such bad practices, the better for our economy.
We are by this release entreating ourselves to prioritize human lives. Lives lost can never be regained. We are charging all governmental agencies that are responsible for ensuring discipline on our roads to work hard to complement government effort in curbing road accident.
Let's all endeavor to be citizens and not spectators. Drivers must monitor each other at the various stations, passengers must always make it a point to questions drivers and car owners whenever they witness any issue that has the possibility of putting their lives in danger. Let's all put in the needed effort to help reduce the rampant road accident.
Thank you.
Long live Alliance Drivers, Ghana
Long live our mother Ghana.
