Member of Parliament (MP) for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) constituency, Hon. Elvis Morris Donkor has on Thursday, 21st July,2022 commissioned and handed over a six unit classroom block, an ultramodern fish drying oven and a 20 sitter watercloset toilet facility to the people of Moree, a suburb of the aforementioned constituency in the Central Region of Ghana.
The well edified classroom block which was handed over to the Moree D/A Basic School 'A' JHS follows the communities woes with regards to school buildings, which leaves the said school no exception.
Receiving the commissioned facility on behalf of the school, Madam Monica Amoah Mensah, Headmistress of the school expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the MP for coming the school's aid with the six unit class room block which comes with a well furnished classroom desk, library, the Head together with Assistant Head's office each.
[Shot] school's new LibraryMadam Monica then requested of the MP to do more for the school as she notified their kindergarten (KG) section needs a lot of revamp, as she recalled pupil who currently sit at home due to the school's deficiency in classroom capacity is almost twice the number of those the school now boost of.
The headmistress in her submission then promised the honorable member that she together with her staff will do everything within their might to exercise a very good maintenance culture towards the facility handed them, so as to propel the Member of Parliament do more for the school as she request.
[Shot] robe cutting for school blockThe colourful event which pulled various personalities both within the region and constituency saw dignitaries like the District Chief Executive (DCE) of AAK, Hon. Willi Evans Obiri Awuah, Chief of Brafoyaw, Nana Attoborakese Vll, the Central Regional Director for the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Mr. Obed Acquah Quansah and the NPP Central Regional Secretary, Mr. Takyi Mensah all trooped in to grace the occasion.
Speaking to Eric Annan in an interview with AfricaNewsArenaGh.Com after the event, Hon. Morris Donkor cautioned authorities of the school, the facility is not a church building, hence should desist from allowing any of its classrooms be used as a place of worship by any church or fellowship.
He then illuminated on the ideology behind him establishing the ultramodern fish drying oven which comes with a storage room, changing room, office, waiting room and a room for rack storage for the residents of Moree, saying;
[Shot] The Ultramodern Fish Drying Oven"The fish drying oven is specifically built to aid in our women who are into fishmongering who usually goes to buy fish at our various seashores but find it difficult as to the hygienic way to smoke these fishes for public consumption, hence this oven is in to help them smoke these fishes in a more hygienic and proper way for public consumption," he narrated.
Meanwhile, his beautifully established 20 sitter watercloset toilet structure (ten for men, the other ten for ladies) which comes with a breath taking interior works, located right behind the Moree Junction was equally commissioned for usage same day.
