Osaberimba Nana Kwesi Atta ll announcing the official launch of the 2022 Oguaa Fetu Afehye


Oguaaman Hene, Osaberimba Nana Kwesi Atta II together with his Traditional Council and Planning Committee has on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 launched the 2022 Oguaa Fetu Afahye at the Ato Austin Gardens (Cape Coast).

The widely celebrated festival which seizes to be come off every first Saturday of September in the calendar year, has since 2019 seen its celebration hit the iceberg due to COVID-19 and its restrictive measures put in place by the government.

The colourful launch of the festival saw dignified personalities like Hon. Aisha Barbara Ayisi (immediate past Cape Coast North MP and the former deputy Minister for Education), Clergymen, Assembly and Unit Committee Members, and some Chief and Queens of the Oguaa Traditional Council all troop into grace the occasion.

Raising up to the occasion to officially launch the festival, Osaberimba Nana Kwesi Atta II expressed his profound gratitude to all individuals which has left everything behind only to converge at the event grounds from 9am in the morning, through to 2pm in the afternoon to witness and grace up the occasion.

Speaking to AfricaNewsArenaGh.Com at the launch, he said;

"We converging here having been calm from morning through to this time is all but in good fate."

"We all witnessed COVID-19 within the last two years deal with us in a more bizarre manner, preventing us from holding our most treasured festival. But today, upon this grounds I announce to all indigenes of Cape Coast, both far and near that this year's Oguaa Fetu Afahye would be celebrated live," he announced.

"Let's all celebrate it in a colourfully manner for the almighty God to also pour out his blessings upon it," he noted.

This year's festival, dubbed; 'Making Cape Coast Great Again; Through Education, Tourism & Development' is slated to come off on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022, which prior to its climax according to the festival's Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. E.A. Perry Mensah said there would be a lot of scheduled activities before the set date for the festival.
