Report Any Man/Husband Who Maltreats You - Regional Chief Imam Urges

The Central Regional Chief Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, Sheikh Awal Mohammed has urged women to report men or husbands who maltreat them to the authorities for an action to be taken.

Sheikh Awal Mohammed made the statement when he was speaking to the Ghana Muslim Mission women's Fellowship at Enyan Denkyira in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District of the Central region on a theme; "The Role Of A Muslim Woman In Islamic Development."

Speaking to AfricaNewsArenaGh's Agyei Kwaku Mensah, the Regional Chief Imam said, marriage is an institution that has existed since creation and every man or woman has to get his/her life partner. 

He added that, men have the right to marry more than one if only they can take full responsibility for all of them.

According to him, homes and families are built by women, therefore there is a need to protect and respect women.

Sheikh Awal Muhammad stressed that, men cannot do without women and behind every successful man there is a good wife.

The Regional Imam also advised women to report men who always maltreat them to the authorities for the action to be taken.

The Regional Youth Imam of Ghana Muslim Mission, Sheikh Ishaque Abdailah Donkoh on his part also talked about the roles of women in Islam and the country.

He added that, God created women to help men, hence, women have roles to play.

Some of the Ghana Muslim Mission Women's Fellowship members also expressed joy for the conference and promised to work hard to bring development to Islam Ghana at large.
