This incident is said to have happened on Monday, 16th May, 2022 at the station's premises.
Per information gathered by AfricaNewsArenaGh's Eric Annan after some interactions with the station's Morning Show Host and Director of Programmes, Nana Kwaku Kaunda said, the radio station situated at Elmina, a city widely known as a hub of fishing was on discussion regarding the non-availability of premix fuel and how fuels usually ends up in the hands of people known not to be fishermen, who later hike prices of these fuels to sell to fisherfolks within the community who badly need it for their daily fishery activities.
The station's Programmes Director narrated that, these guys, believed to be party members of the ruling political party NPP and a suspected persons among those who aren't fisherfolks but end up acquiring chonk of these premix fuel to sell on a higher price to fishermen with fury stormed the station in the middle of the discussion and started pulling down anything they laid their hands on, ending up beating presenter of the show, who is said to be a Pastor together with his producer.
The presenter who according to Kaunda have been discharged from a nearby hospital after sustaining heavy bruises on his head, which ended swoling up is currently fine, as his producer had one of his hands broken.
Adding up to his narrations, Kaunda said, leadership of the radio station immediately drawn the attention of the Elmina District police to the issue, who hurriedly rushed to the scene.
He moreover alleged that, these suspected NPP guys who stormed the radio station, a day after the atrocity was made were seen together with the District's Municipal Chief Executive at an organized program within Elmina, and as such believe so that they are members of the aforementioned political party.
An arrest according to the police as at now is yet to be effected, as the case still undergoes investigations.
The radio station is currently operating off-air, following the vandalization of almost their entire studio equipments.
