Residents Of Abrafi Estate Call On Techiman North Assembly Over Rampant Road Traffic Crashes

Residents of Abrafi Estate, a community in the Techiman North District in the Bono East region have called on the District Assembly and the Central Government to come to their aid construct roadside drainage through Grotto, Asueyi, Masiden Buoyem and the inner town roads to ease the free movement of waters and to curb accident rate in the area.

The residents made this appeal when they contribute monies and materials to construct a bridge that linked to the inner town roads.

According to sources, the road was constructed by the Catholic Church but they did not provide roadside drains that will ease the free movement of the waters and as a result of that, the waters have taken an advantage of that to erode the tiled road which has now served as a dead treat, and Abrafi Estate has been an accident-prone area in every two or three days.

Madam Agnes Korauwa Mensah, a resident has lauded the people of Abrafi Estate for the unity among themselves as they have been able to construct a bridge with their own funding.
She urged everyone to be a sanitation ambassador to keep the community clean.

Reaching Mr. Rudolf Chireh, he stated that he has been there for the past 10-years but no developmental project has come to the area especially.
"The roads network is very disheartening, but during elections, the politicians will come and deceived us but after the election, they go back without honouring their promises.

Mallam Labarah also urged the government and District Assembly to immediately come to their aid and eliminate the challenge in the area.
"This area is developing but the nature of the roads does not befit us."

She added that the residents are ready to support the Assembly to construct the roadside drainage with the materials they might need.
