Misfiring Hearts of Oak Share Spoils With Elmina Sharks In GPL MatchWeek 25 Fixture

Hearts of Oak was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw in the encounter against Elmina Sharks on Sunday afternoon after the team presented by coach Samuel Boadu failed to turn up.

The Phobians all season have not been that impressive when compared to the team’s output under the young gaffer in the second round of last season.

Today at the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak hosted relegation-threatened Elmina Sharks in a matchday 25 encounter of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Despite a great start to the contest where new signing Samuel Inkoom scored his debut goal to give Hearts of Oak the lead in the first minute, the team could not capitalise on the momentum to secure the maximum points.

The hosts wasted a number of chances as the visitors restored parity through Michael Ohene Asamoah in the 28^th minute before the halftime break.

Although Hearts of Oak would play like the better side in the second half, the team could not find the back of the net and had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

With today’s result, it now appears impossible for the defending league champions to overtake Asante Kotoko at the top of the Ghana Premier League table.
