Middle Belt Development Authority To Hold Investment And Development Summit

The Chief Executive Officer of the Middle Belt Development Authority Mr Joe Danquah has hinted that his outfit will very soon hold an investment and development summit to showcase the resources in the beneficiary zones.

Mr Joe Danquah made this known at the commissioning of an ultra-modern market at Juansa in the Asante Akyem North Municipality in the Ashanti region.

According to him, investors will be invited to be part of this laudable initiative by the Authority as part of bringing developments to the beneficiary constituencies.

"My outfit has designed a lot of beneficiaries programs which will be implemented soon in the middle belt zones. We are coming out with an investment and development summit which will help us to showcase resources in the zone to potential investors who would like to invest in these sectors and also create employment for the teeming youth within the zones".

He noted that the Middle Belt Development Authority (MBDA) is in the process of sealing an agreement with Germany that will see nurses from Ghana to be exported to work in Germany to create jobs for our growing youth population. 

Middle Belt Development Authority is an establishment of an act of parliament in 2017 by the Nana Addo, Bawumia government. Which was tasked among other things to develop the Middle Belt zone of the country.

The regions that constitute the Middle Belt Zone include the Eastern, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East & Ahafo regions.

There are five (5) regions and 109 constituencies in all. The Zone has enormous natural and human resources which the authority wants to take advantage of through the investment and development summit to harness.

So far the Middle Belt Development has more than two thousand projects(some completed, some ongoing, and a few others yet to start.

This project runs through all 109 constituencies and multifaceted areas of human needs. From sports, Education, Health, security, Water and Sanitation, tourism, environmental infrastructure, etc.

The Odomase Astroturf in Sunyani, Bono region, The Dadiesoaba nursing training dormitory in the Ahafo region, The Tachiman North Health centre in Bono East, the famous, Prof Adu Boahen Park Square at Juaben in the Ashanti Region, The Nkawkaw Okwahu United park in the Eastern Region is all examples of commissioned and ongoing projects of the Development Authority. 

All this is funded by the government 1 Constituency 1million Dollar Initiative.
