Otto Addo Submits Black Stars Squad This Week Ahead Of Nigeria Double-Header

Interim Ghana coach, Otto Addo has reportedly finalized his Black Stars squad ahead of the final World Cup Qualifying playoff against West African rivals Nigeria later this month.

The first leg comes off on March 25, 2022, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before the Black Stars travel to Abuja for the second leg on March 29, 2022, to be played at the M.K.O Abiola National Stadium.

Addo, who is currently at his base in Germany, has been analyzing his opponent and also preparing his squad for the crucial encounter.

Reports in the local media indicates that, most of the players who were involved with Ghana  at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, will make the Black Stars squad for the world cup play-offs.

Meanwhile, Ghana will be without captain Andre Dede Ayew and Yeni Malatyaspor striker Benjamin Tetteh. The two players are both suspended for the game after receiving red cards in the AFCON.

Rennes star Kamaldeen Sulemana has picked up an injury and could also miss the double-header.

Otto Addo will officially submit his squad to the Ghana Football Association by close of the week and an announcement would expected to be made afterwards.

The Ghana FA is expected to send invitations to the clubs 14 days ahead of the tie before players can be released during the international break.

However, the Black Stars technical team will meet with management before officially announcing the squad to the public.
