E-Skills4Girls Digital Inclusion Community Durbar Graduates 36 Trainees

AgriCo Hub in partnership with GIZ Ghana held a Digital Inclusion Community Durbar and graduation ceremony for 36 women who have completed a 3-week training program in Digital Skills for informal Trade in Krobo of the Techiman North District. 

Excerpts of the program was a speech from the Queen Mother of the Krobo Community who advised the graduates to apply the digital skills acquired as a catalyst to expand their businesses. 

The Chairman of the event, Nana Gyedu Kumanin, Sodohene of Krobo Traditional area expressed his appreciation to GIZ for supporting Agrico Hub to use this training program to train women in the Krobo Community to also take advantage of the many benefits of the digital economy.

Mr. Victor Danquah, the Regional IT Director of Bono East Regional Coordinating Council reiterated that the digital skills training for Women in informal Trade is very timely given that women constitute a greater percentage of traders in the informal sector of Ghana. He added that Digital skills have the potential of promoting trade irrespective of location and persons involved.

The E-Skills graduates were allowed to exhibit the digital skills learned from the program to the community members present. Awards and certificates were presented to the graduates as motivation and inspiration for other women. 

The event forms part of the ongoing eSkills4Girls program that seeks to equip over 50 rural women in informal in Krobo, Techiman North District and Fiaso in the Techiman Municipal of the Bono East region. 

About 29 women are currently receiving similar digital skills training in Fiaso, Techiman Municipality.
