The Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Evans Opoku Bobie has called on the Ghanaian youth to remain focused and resolute on their respective talents and skills.
Mr Opoku Bobie revealed this in an interview with Francis Agyapong Nimpong at the maiden football tournament in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo region.
"I want to use this platform to tell the youth that, they are capable of and can do exploit with discipline, determination and consistency. The motive of organising this tournament is to help identify the potentials and pave way for the youth to join and accomplish their dreams of becoming footballers". He added that the tournament will be a stepping stone for the talented and skilful footballers to join football clubs to justify their inclusion home and Abroad.
Mr Evans Opoku Bobie who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the people of Asunafo North Constituency in the Ahafo region assured the youth that, President Akufo-Addo led government is committed to ensuring the youth of Ghana achieve their dreams and goals for their betterment and contribute immensely in nation-building.
"Life is full of setbacks therefore, you need not to give up and relent on your talents. Many years have come and gone but consider the year 2022 as a golden year and the wheel to showcase your skills to the World. People who refuse to give up always achieve greater things in the long round. Today, you see me as your MP and Deputy Minister but I didn't achieve these on a silver platter but through hardworking, determined spirit and the favour of God. The football players I see today are going to be superstars tomorrow." Mr Evans Opoku Bobie.
The chiefs and elders of the communities thanked him for such initiative and appealed to him to construct AstroTurf and Stadium in the Ahafo Region to unearth more talents.
The maiden tournament saw the youth from communities like Fawohoyeden, Asumura, Ayomso, Akrodie, Gyasikrom, Bitire, Bediako and Kasapin participating for the giant trophy.
Mr Opoku Bobie, in conclusion, accepted and urge them to exercise patience because plans are far advanced to construct an AstroTurf and Stadium in the region.
