Following the free-for-all fight that broke out in the Parliament on Monday night over the controversial E-Levy bill, the Benkomhene of Buoyem in the Techiman North of the Bono East region, Nana Ameyaw Antwi Boasiako II has condemned the act and called on the Chiefs in their respective constituencies to advice their Members of Parliament (MPs) to desist from fighting for their interest and must focus on the development of the communities.
He described the development as embarrassing and shameful.
Speaking to Classic 91.9FM on Tuesday, January 5, 2022, Nana Ameyaw Antwi Boasiako II said as Parliament resumes on January 18, 2022, the Parliamentarians must apologize and promise not to repeat the incident.
"This is a very shameful and embarrassing moment to witness Members of Parliament (MPs) fighting among themselves and forgetting the reason why they were sent there. The Parliamentarians must bow down their heads in shame for this gross dereliction of responsibility."
He further appealed to everyone in Techiman and its environs to obey the Chiefs and should partake massively especially during cleanup exercises and other related activities that contribute to the development of the area and Ghana at large.
