Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North constituency, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson has presented sets of brand-new hair dryers and sewing machines to support graduands who had successfully undergone training in hairdressing and dressmaking in the district.

The donation was done on Friday,  December 10, 2021 at the apprenticeship graduation ceremony of the Reform Artisan Association, where among the 9 graduates; 3 received hair dryers and the remaining 6, sewing machines. The graduation took place at Assin Akonfudi Community Centre in the Assin North constituency of the Central region.


At a short ceremony to present the items to the beneficiaries, the Director of Elections, Mr Sylvester Amakye who made the presentation on behalf of  MP said, the donation is followed by the campaign message as the Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. James Gyakye Quayson in the 2020 General Elections promised the district to provide free training and sponsor youth for free apprenticeship training with certified master craftsmen/women if the power is given to him to serve the good and law abiding citizens of Assin North constituency has again fulfilled his promise.


 "He streeed that, the “ultimate aim of the Honourable Member of Parliament is to help promote skills development and assist the constituents especially the youth with tools and equipment to lead self-supporting lives."

Mr Amakye further advised the graduates to take their businesses seriously by adopting measures to entice more customers and clients to improve their livelihoods.


Chairman of the Reform Artisan Association, Nana Yaw Aboagye, on behalf of the graduating class and the Assoicantion, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MP for the support and encouraged him to support vocational training within the constituency and also assured to use the machines profitable.
