The Assembly Member for New Nkusukum Electoral Area at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, Honourable Mohammed Ekow Arthur, Parents and the sixteen (16) schools in the Nkusukum Electoral Area has hit the principal streets of Mankessim with placards calling on the government, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to provides traffic lights, speed ramps, among others.
Some of the statement on the placards include, "provide speed ramp to reduce accident, we need your help Mr. President, our lives are in danger, drivers are killing us too much, we need speed ramp at Volta Bar, we need speed ramp at Nananom junction, we need speed ramp at Asem Wo Ekyir.

According to Hon. Mahammed, "several consultation has been made and I have officially met some of the Drivers' Union who ply through Mankessim-Cape Coast Highway in order to curb the canker but nothing better has come out of it and the only option left is to demonstrate calling on the government to come to our aid.
But should in the government fails to heels to our cry", they urged to 'apply force'.

Reaching some of the parents and the headteacher of Ayisha Islamic Basic School, Mr Patrick Kobina Eshun, they also lamented on the rapid killing of the students especially on Wednesdays which is easily avoidable if the government has provided speed ramps.
"The killing to much, it's uncalled-for a school to loose three students in a day as a result of lack of speed ramps, traffic lights and zebra crossing and the enrollment we know has been reduced", he revealed.

Some of the students also appealed to Mr President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to come to their aid as they sometimes do not have the passion and the zeal to go to school as a result of trucks running over and knocking down some of their colleagues.
