Chief Imam's GH¢50,000 Could Be Used To Support Agenda 111 Hospitals Rather Than The Construction Of 'National Gay Cathedral' - Cadres Alleges

Following the National Chief Imam, Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu's GH¢50,000 support to the construction of the National Cathedral, the Gallant Cadres of NDC has fired him for such move.

In an exclusive interview, Comrade Richard E. A. Sarpong, Father Casford, the PRO and Convener for the Gallant Cadres of NDC has describe the National Cathedral as 'National Gay Cathedral' for it is not financed by the state budget/tax payers money.

According to him, "Prosperity will judge Chief Imam for contributing an amount of GH¢50,000 to the construction of the 'unhealthy', 'useless' and 'Gay' Cathedral".

"It's Nana Akufo-Addo's personal promise and why should he charge Ghanaians to contribute GH¢100 to that effect. It's painful that the cathedral is being financed by Gay Activists", he added.

Chief Imam's GH¢50,000 Could Be Used To Support Agenda 111 Hospitals Rather Than The Construction Of National Gay Cathedral

Several weeks after the funfair sod cutting, one hardly see any work going on at the site. Ghanaians would have to peruse  and explore the work done already in this country, otherwise we will be praising work already done and paid for with State money. An example is the design for the Agenda 111 hospitals.
The Estate Management Unit of the Ghana Health Service engaged a consultant some years ago to develop a standard modular concept for our health facilities.
A design that would enable the State to upgrade the different levels of healthcare facilities as and when the need arises. It was also to provide the blueprint for our capital investments in healthcare.
That modular concept was used to build the Dodowa Hospital, Ga East Hospital, most of the facilities John Dramani Mahama built but have been  'abandoned.

Sadly, the Agenda 111 and the PR surrounding it and the exceptional design prowess of Sir David Adjaye, the state is paying fresh money for a design concept we already have and being used.
Now, assuming we decided just before Agenda 111 not to go with the existing modular designs and we needed a new design direction, wouldn't it have been prudent to have employed a transparent competitive process?
