COVID-19: Public Use Of Face Masks Flouted At Bus Terminals

Wearing face masks at some transport terminals and on public transportation has been made mandatory in much of Ghana days after His Excellency President Nana Akufo Addo proposed the wearing of face masks amid the fighting of civid-19 following the lifting of the partial lockdown but in pubic others are yet to use the masks.

A number of transport terminals in Cape Coast Metro and Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality have introduced a system to ensure that the public wear nose masks in vehicles and the town at large whiles others have turned a blind eye to the precautions.

Reports indicate that about moiety of commuters are not wearing the masks as directed but the transportation terminals have been ensuring and mandated the measure.

He indicated that commercial vehicles are strictly adhering to distance in the seating of the passengers in compliance with the social distance protocol to limit the spread of COVID-19 and the directive of wearing face coverings being abode by many public travelers whiles others have ignored .

It was also revealed that other important precautionary measures like washing of hands, physical distancing has reduced with wearing of facial coverings has been used as an alternative to any of these other precautions but they are still ensuring to mandate the wearing of the nose masks.
