Residents of Abuontem in the Mampong Municipal District have expressed a greater sweat concerning classroom blocks and the pupils over a situation they delineate as a punishment by the government and authorities as school under tree still persist in the community.
The canker has entangled Abuontem community over period of years when a heavy downpour rain collapse over sixty years (60yrs) classroom block and other block-unit unroofed of which the pupils have turn up in carrot farming.
Addressing africanewsarena.blogspot.com portal, the residents confirmed to our reporter, Acquah Solomon Kobina Savvy that, "proposals and letters have been addressed to authorities who are in the best positions but nothing much avails"
"How is it possible for a school with two streams not having adequate facilities", Barimaah Yaw Saddique, the president of Abuontem based Unity Fun Club stressed
The pupils also disclosed that whether it rains or shines, they know how difficult it is to carry their desk alongside the books of which much concentration is lost in the course of studying and they have no option to embrace the act than to go to their various homes to engage in carrot farming.
"If we will come to school to face such challenge, then, it's better for us to stay elsewhere and engross ourselves in farming activities. We now understand why most of the colleagues are not willing to come because they are making it from the carrot", the class representative, Atta George emphasized
They are therefore calling on the NPP government led by H. E. Prez Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and authorities in charge to immediately turn to their aid to curb the canker for the pupils are massively dropping out from the school.
